I'm using an older 2.9 series development version of Gimp at the minute (I just haven't got round to updating) and to export I have to reduce the image to 8bit, then convert to a colour profile before exporting to jpg or the colours get a little screwed up. I have this as an export pre set in the light table view for the admittedly rare times I need to go to Gimp for extra editing. I found these the fastest to use in Gimp. You are loosing bits by going to 8bit jpg format so set Darktable to export as 32bit float tiff files. and then just open the jpg in gimp? is that in effect the same thing? If so, very happy to do that How do I add the plugin?Īll that said, am I losing anything if I edit in darktable and export as a jpg. In LINUX itv says I need to install a raw editor even though I've got one. In windows it just features to opening with NFURAW. I can't seem to get darktable to open within GIMP with either. In windows raw files open with NFURAW which partha incorporated into his build. I'm using both 2.10.8 in linux and (using partha's build) in windows.
